Of course, you do not have to build the charcuterie board or the kit to attend the event. You can simply sip while the rest of us make our charcuterie board and discuss the lavender items from our kit. The event will feature a charcuterie enthusiast to teach us on how to use everyday items, styling tips and flavor pairings – and to embrace this art as an everyday “meal” for a family since large social gatherings are limited at this time. We’ll also touch on the history of this tradition in France.
In addition, we have arranged a studio tour and talk with artist Tiffani Taylor who spent 5 years living and creating in France. Salacia Salts co-founder Cari Phelps spent some of this time with Tiffani at Savannah College of Art & Design’s campus in the beautiful village of Lacoste. Artist Tiffani Taylor has graciously donated the original watercolor she painted in Provence of lavender. She is pictured below with the original. If you do not win the original, do not worry because a print of this original is available in our Provencal Kit. Tiffani will be our guest speaker at our Provencal Event on February 25th and will share her stories about life in France and provide a tour of her home studio.
Do not forget that we are also offering France inspired virtual wine tasting this month. The event will take place February 23rd at 8 pm ET. Diana Jones of Jones Von Drehle will guide you through the wine tasting experience of three of their Bordeaux style wines created in North Carolina. In addition, a guide from Bordeaux Excellence will bestow some general knowledge about Bordeaux wine country and take us to Bordeaux Phelan Segur where we will meet with Veronique the general manager.
