Fall Weather & Apple Picking 🍎🍏🍎

Not all of my emails are about epic adventures.  Sometimes, a simple adventure is exactly what you need.  Last weekend, we ventured to Jeter Mountain Farm in Hendersonville, NC.  We took advantage of the gorgeous fall weather to spend time with family outdoors.  We ate in downtown Hendersonville before heading to the farm, and oh my goodness, it is a picture perfect town.  I had not really heard of it as a weekend destination before, everybody from Charlotte seems to head to Asheville for their mountain getaway, but I loved the small town charm of Hendersonville.  Since I am not a NC native, I admittedly do not know much about this town.  If you are familiar with Hendersonville, please share any must do activities in the area, and I will feature on my social media.

Speaking of social media, I shared this video of our little apple picking adventure.  I wanted to include it here in case you didn’t get to see it and wanted to get some insight into the Jeter Mountain Farm experience.  They also have other fruits and veggies available throughout the year and offer a Christmas tree farm.  This will not be our last trip!

Now to my exciting piece of news.  Last week, I shared that we were featured in an article on the website for the travel magazine, AFAR.  This week, I am excited to share that an article that I wrote about our ‘schoolcation’ experience was published on the Scary Mommy website.  See below!

‘How My Family Took A Successful ‘Schoolcation’ during’ During The Pandemic – Scary Mommy, September 2020

Whether you are looking to take a schoolcation or a small weekend trip, I am happy to give any advice, even if it is not a trip that I can ‘sell’ to you.  While travel is my business, it is also my passion.  So even when I can not operate my business like normal, I still want to inspire your travels, whether you are comfortable traveling now or want to dream about the future.  We all need a break right now – even it is a mental break to plan for the trip you will take when we get our lives back.

Keep Dreaming,

Jen
I love fall.  Growing up in the south means I did not always get to experience it properly.  That is why I tend to gravitate towards trips to cooler destinations in the fall.  My favorite fall trip was our getaway to Quebec City in 2016.  My sister had been a few weeks earlier.  She texted me and said that my husband and I had to go there as soon as possible and that she would watch the boys who were only three at the time.  Of course I said yes!  And boy was she right about Quebec City.  I loved it!

What I really loved about QC was that it felt like I was in Europe but only had to take a short flight to get there.  I also loved the vibrant fall colors that we really don’t get here in the South and the fact that it was so easy to get out of the historic downtown to see the more agriculture region surrounding the city.

My sister and her hubby were supposed to go this past weekend to celebrate their anniversary, but they had to cancel because of travel restrictions to Canada.  I hope they get to go back next year, and I hope Rob and I get to go back soon also!
